Your invited to our free winter education seminars!
Each month we will be holding a series of clinics to help you better your landscape and gardening skills.

Due to limited space and lunch, pre-registration is required for all attendees. Don’t miss a great time preparing for spring. All clinics start at 10:00 a.m. and will run to approx. 3:00 p.m. or longer pending on participation. A simple lunch at noon will be provided for those that have pre-registered. Lunch will consist of soup or hotdogs, please feel free to pack your lunch if you prefer.

Pre-register by calling the office 937-596-6206 or emailing us at info@kahnursery.com.   We will need your name (s) and a phone number in which you can be reached due to inclement weather or cancellation.

Starting on January 21st (Saturday), we’ll hold a design concept class with plant selection. You are invited to bring in a picture of an area in which you would like suggestions. We will as a group discuss from a designer’s point of view what information is needed in order to choose the right specimen for your landscape. You need to provide a rough sketch of the area, measurements of the bed width and length. Or, if you have an area in which you have an empty spot, the maximum growth measurement to which the plant cannot exceed. In addition, preferably a picture (s) of the house or view in which you are working on. This clinic will better help you to understand what goes through a designer’s thought process when selecting plant material. Due to limited space and lunch, pre-registration is required for all attendees by Jan. 18th.
February 25th (Saturday), we will cover proper seed handling, starting, storing, dividing seedlings, and what goes into the preparations for the pre-greenhouse operations. We will take you through our process of starting things up for the season. Leave with the information you need to start some of your own seeds in your home. Due to limited space and lunch, pre-registration is required for all attendees by Feb. 22nd.
March 8 & 9th (Thursday or Friday) we will have an Open Greenhouse Day. Join us to see how we get those plants a growing for spring sales. We will be transplanting, trimming, and starting hanging baskets. Dress in layers, as the greenhouse is warm when the sun is out, so pull out those t-shirts, come and enjoy the sights and smells of spring! Bring the kids so they can see how these little plants get started! No-registration needed, just stop by the main (largest) greenhouse, we’ll be there.
March 17th (Saturday), we will be discussing proper pruning, dividing and maintenance that is preformed in the early months of the year. Dress appropriately we will be going out to the bushes and trees outside for a good portion of the clinic. If major inclement weather does show itself, we will post pone until the following week. Make sure you pre-register for cancellation notifications. Due to limited space and lunch, pre-registration is required for all attendees by March 14th
April 21st   (Saturday), we will be covering annual plant design. Whether you are planning a container project or planting in the landscape beds, you need to understand the balance and textures of building those great displays that your family will enjoy. Make the plants work for you rather than you needing to work on them all the time. Come find out secrets to making it all happen. Due to limited space and lunch, pre-registration is required for all attendees by April 18th.
